A student service teacher is an invaluable resource to our school, our teachers, and most importantly, to our students. A student service teacher assists classroom teachers in making educational decisions for individual students. They work with individual and/or small group of students needing special assistance beyond what can be provided in the classroom. They assist teachers in relating materials to identify student needs. Overall, they help students become successful and meet their goals and in doing so make them feel confident in the classroom.

I am a 1987 graduate of SAS and am thrilled to be working at my alma mater! After graduating from Providence High School in 1991, I earned my degree in Special Education at Indiana University-Bloomington.

I was employed by Greater Clark County Schools for seventeen years, where I worked in numerous aspects of special education. I taught students with various disabilities in both self-contained rooms and inclusive settings, worked as part of the evaluation team to determine eligibility for special education, and supervised special education teachers at the elementary, middle and high school levels. I have been a part of the SAS faculty since the 2012-2013 school year.

My husband, Joel, and I were married at St. Anthony in 1996 and have been parishioners since that time. We have 3 sons. In my free time, I enjoy exercising, reading and following IU athletics. Some fun facts about me are that I have run in 3 marathons, I HATE shopping, I don't watch television series' that isn’t on regular tv (i.e. Game of Thrones), I am freaked out by clowns and mimes, and I graduated from SAS in 1987 with Mrs. Kempf, and I graduated from Providence High School in 1991 with Mrs. Kempf and Mrs. LaMaster!

I attended OLPH for K-8th grade. I then attended Providence High School. Here I played soccer, softball, and cheerleader along with theater before graduating with a B.S. in Elementary Education and Special Education at U of L.

I began working here in 2016 as our Student Services teacher working alongside Mrs. Kelly. I service students in grades K-8 sometimes working with students in the classroom, but also pulling them out to work one on one and design individual plans for them. I also lend a helping hand by co-teaching with other teachers to help students reach their full potential.

I have one son, Chandler. In my spare time, I like to play soccer on a co-ed team in Louisville, roam the aisles of Target, binge watch Friends on loop along with other Netflix series, do crafts, and EAT!!!!!! Fun facts about me are that I know sign language, I am a dog lover, I prefer to only wear tennis shoes, my love of food began when my dad, Sam Anderson, opened his own restaurant that many people may know in Southern Indiana, called Sam’s Food and Spirits. I have also mastered the art of the jumping heel click. :)

I received my B.S. in Primary and Intermediate Education from Indiana University Southeast in 2009. I have had the pleasure of teaching students in kindergarten, second grade, third grade, fifth grade and sixth grade, as well as having experience as a reading and math interventionist.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, listening to music and spending time with my husband and two daughters. We are all Disney obsessed and having Disney sing-a-long time almost daily. ;-) Dressing up for theme days is a must for me! I am a fourth generation IU fan, love my candy-striped pants, and Alan Henderson for starting with amazing socks. Growing up, my family’s Easter tradition, after finding all the eggs, was to throw them from my grandparent’s house to a big barn and have a water fight. Even though we are all grown now and the barn is no longer standing, we still continue this tradition with our families. Some fun facts about me are that I only drink water, I coached volleyball for 7 years, and my husband and I have built five houses!
