8th Grade Teacher
My father's career was in the USAF, so I attended school in many different states. From sixth grade to my graduation at Clarksville High School, I attended Clarksville Middle School and Clarksville High School. My Bachelor of Science in Education and a Masters of Science in Education along with a Middle School Endorsement in ELA was received from IUS. I am also a member of the IUS chapter of the National Writing Project Advance Institute.
Beginning in 1997, I was a substitute teacher at St. Anthony School. I became a full-time classroom teacher in the Fall of 2000, where I've been ever since teaching ELA and religion to the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.
My husband, Bob, and I met at the Ponderosa Steakhouse where we both worked during high school. We were married by Fr. David Hutt here at St. Anthony of Padua Parish in 1984. My husband and his five brothers and sisters were SAS Bears in the 1970's, our three children were SAS Bears in the 2000's, and now the third generation, our grandson, is also a St. Anthony Bear.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family. We love to get together to eat (we love to eat!!), play board games and cards, and just visit. I also like to visit historical sites and museums. I am the person who reads every plaque. I also like to read. At any given time, there are at least four books ready for me to begin reading.

I went to grade school at St. Mary's of the Knobs, then graduated from Floyd Central, IU Bloomington with a BS in Education (Middle school math), and a Masters from IUS in Education. I have taught middle school math at various private and public schools, even a couple of semesters at IUS teaching algebra and college algebra. My husband Chris and I have 4 sons. We decided to home school our boys, and that led me to get involved in teaching middle school and high school math classes for the home school community.
I enjoy spending time with my family orienteering, hiking, camping and just hanging out. I have 3 grandchildren. I am looking forward to teaching awesome students and being a part of the family at St. Anthony's.
