St. Anthony Parish begins its second year offering a program at St. Anthony School called
Stewardship Friday. This program is an example of how St. Anthony School meets its mission to provide Catholic values which affords students the opportunity to learn and develop as individuals in the community, creating a living example of God’s love.
Many of us have lived with the misconception that stewardship is primarily about fund-raising. And yes, stewardship is in a small way is about money, but students at St. Anthony School will learn that stewardship is much more. This program introduces stewardship as a lifestyle of sharing the gifts and talents God have given us with those in need. One Friday a month we have Stewardship Friday. On this special day our students will become:
Stewardship Friday has a different focus each year. Students will gain 9 years of exposure to a variety of community issues. Once this program is fully implemented students at St. Anthony will be exposed to these areas of need in our community.
Students will also have a second focus each year – a Stewardship Virtue. One specific virtue such as dignity, humility commitment, community, relationship, making a difference, sacrifice, gifts and blessings are woven into the Stewardship Focus learning each year.
Parents and grandparent volunteers are involved in implementation of this program. If you are interested in assisting in this program, please contact the Stewardship Parent for your child’s grade or Jamie Huber.
