About Me
I am a graduate of St. Anthony's School and Providence High School. I earned a B.S. in Education from Spalding University in Louisville, and a Master's degree in Education from Indiana University.
I started working at St. Anthony in 1972 and plan to hang around for several more years. ;-) I have wanted to be a teacher ever since I was a student in the 4th grade at St. Anthony School. I started out teaching 1st grade for many years, before making the switch to Kindergarten. Several years ago, I moved back to 1st grade.
My husband Greg and I have been married for 39 years and have 6 children, all of whom attended St. Anthony School. I have 9 grandchildren! Four of my 9 grandchildren attend St. Anthony’s and I have taught them all!
During my free time, I enjoy traveling, embroidering baby quilts, and spending time with my grandchildren. One fun fact about me is that I HATE cleaning my house and I have a whole house to prove it. I plan to visit Alaska and Italy some day!
Educational Statement
I believe it is a privilege to teach in a Catholic school and to teach the children about Jesus and our Catholic faith. I believe that at St. Anthony's we teach the whole child and that we encourage individual learning on the level that the child is capable of learning. The children are challenged within their ability, and extra help is given to those who need it. I encourage classroom visits by prospective students and parents at any time.
