Jennifer Harrington

About Me

My name is Jennifer Harrington.  I went to St. Anthony’s from 1^st-8^th grade.  I graduated from Providence High School and continued my education at IUS where I got my B.S. in Elementary Education.  After graduating from college, I began my teaching career at St. Anthony’s and taught 5^th grade from 2004-2008.  I taught 6th grade at St. Bernard in Louisville, KY from 2009-2011.  After being a stay-at-home mommy for 4 years, I returned to St. Anthony to teach 5th grade once again from 2015-2016 before becoming the Techonology/Communications Manger.

My husband and I are huge UK fans!!  Besides watching UK games with my family, my other hobbies include, reading (I ♡ reading and add new books to my Kindle daily), photography (I love taking pictures of my daughters and seeing how much they grow each year), walking, watching T.V., cooking, and spending time with my family.

Educational Statement

I believe that every child has the right to learn, and my goal is to provide them with a high quality of education.  I want each child that comes into my classroom to feel welcomed, safe, and nurtured.  This environment will allow each child to feel comfortable to learn and experience new things.
 
As a teacher, I am aware of each child’s emotional, physical, social, and educational needs.  It is my job to take the time to get to know each student.  By doing this, I can create opportunities for each child to succeed.  It is also important to keep an open line of communication with each parent or guardian.  It is important for them to know that we are a team with a common goal which is that we both want to see their child grow and succeed.
