4th Grade Teacher
My name is Jana Connin, and I am excited to be teaching fourth grade here at St. Anthony School. I was born and raised in Germany and moved to the US in 2000 when I married my husband Kip who is a mathematics teacher at Jeffersonville High School. We have two sons, Kaden and Keegan, who attend school here at St. Anthony.
I attended University of Louisville where I received my Bachelor's Degree, not in Teaching but in Justice Administration. I then discovered that I like children much better than convicts and decided to attend IUS where I received my teaching degree.
I believe that every child is unique and capable of learning. Each child has had different experiences at home and at school before ever entering my classroom. Even siblings do not share all of their experiences, often have quite different personalities, and have not been treated exactly the same by any parent or caregiver. It is my hope that every student will enter my classroom with the expectations of feeling safe and being treated fairly. It is my job as a Catholic school teacher to assure each child that he or she is always treated fairly, and that each student knows that my classroom is a safe environment for them to learn in.
