About MeI attended OLPH for K-8th grade. I then attended Providence High School. Here I played soccer, softball, and cheerleader along with theater before graduating with a B.S. in Elementary Education and Special Education at U of L.
I began working here in 2016 as our Student Services teacher working alongside Mrs. Kelly. I service students in grades K-8 sometimes working with students in the classroom, but also pulling them out to work one on one and design individual plans for them. I also lend a helping hand by co-teaching with other teachers to help students reach their full potential.
I have one son, Chandler, who attends kindergarten at SAS. In my spare time, I like to play soccer on a co-ed team in Louisville, roam the aisles of Target, binge watch Friends on loop along with other Netflix series, do crafts, and EAT!!!!!! Fun facts about me are that I know sign language, I am a dog lover, I prefer to only wear tennis shoes, my love of food began when my dad, Sam Anderson, opened his own restaurant that many people may know in Southern Indiana, called Sam’s Food and Spirits. I have also mastered the art of the jumping heel click. :)
Educational StatementTeaching is not a one size fits all career hat. Each student is vastly different which means their learning syles are also vastly different. It's our job as teachers to tap into their interests, form positive and meaningful relationships with each student, and stimulate them in order for them to grow. Progress is progress no matter how small and no matter the area in which they feel they can grow.
