I attended grade school at St. Paul’s in Sellersburg. I went to Silver Creek for junior high and high school. I then attended I.U.S. for my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in education with an emphasis on early childhood development. I took additional course work from Indiana Wesleyan for my +30. I taught in West Clark School System for 11 years. Once my children were born, I decided to stay home with them and be a full-time mom.
Once my children started attending St. Anthony, I subbed when needed. As they got older, I covered a few maternity leaves. When an opportunity to teach 7th and 8th grade history and geography here at St. Anthony came up, I accepted the position. I did this for a few years, but when the ELL position became available two years later, I jumped at the opportunity to take over that role.
I have been married to my husband David, for 27 years. We have 2 children, Nicholas and Jacqueline. I enjoy cycling, Zumba, reading, and running. I love to cook and be creative in the kitchen, but don’t like cleaning up the messes I make. I love teaching at St. Anthony School because the staff and students are wonderful. We have a great family atmosphere here at our school!
Educational Statement
The education and well-being of each student is my primary goal. I want them to understand that education is a constant learning process. It is important to me that students not only develop their cognitive skills in school, but also their affective skills, such as cooperation, self-discipline, and respect for others. I also want them to understand that God is an important part of their lives, and they should always strive to grow spiritually.
