I grew up learning to cook from my mom. When I was 18, I began working at Mother’s Cooking Company. This is where I learned to bake. Taking baking classes, I made Girl Scout Cookies and other assorted cookies for the company. After 19 years, I began my own restaurant/deli in downtown Louisville called, Down to Lunch Cafe. Here I sold burgers, chicken strips, homemade soups, and other deli type items.
In 2005, I took over as the Cafeteria Manager for St. Anthony School. While working here, I also worked at the Horseshoe Casino at the buffet for 5 years. I began working full-time at St. Anthony when I took over the After School Care position. My favorite thing to make is soup. My favorite soup out of all the ones I make is my Beef Vegetable Soup.
The thing I like most about working at St. Anthony’s is making the kids and staff happy with my food. When I was younger, lunch was always my favorite time of the day, not only to eat delicious meals, but because it was a time to relax and socialize with my peers. I want that same experience for our students here at school.
I have one daughter, Kara. In my spare time, I enjoy playing golf and horse racing. Some fun facts about me is that I played baseball, 3rd base, in high school, and I am Greek!
