I am an alumnus of St. Anthony School. I graduated from Providence High School before attending Indiana University Southeast.
I began working as our Preschool teacher in 1999. Over the last 20 years I have revamped and restructured the preschool program. My focus is to develop the whole child emotionally, socially, physically, spiritually, and intellectually for elementary school. My goal is that each child has a solid foundation of academic and social skills to ensure a successful transition into kindergarten. Seven years ago, the old credit union was purchased and renovated into our new preschool building. Since then, I have been the Preschool Director.
My family and I have always been a part of the St. Anthony family. My husband Bobby and I believe strongly in the value of a catholic education. Both of our children attended St. Anthony School and went on to attend catholic high schools . Our son, Bobby, graduated with honors from Bellarmine University and our daughter, Madelyn, graduated from the University of Notre Dame as a double major with honors. In my spare time, I love reading, gardening and decorating my house for the holidays. Saturdays, however, are reserved for football! I LOVE the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, my Labradoodle Scout, and Hot Tamale candy!
Educational Statement
I have been continually developing the St. Anthony preschool program since I began teaching here in 1998. The three-year-old program helps develop social, motor, and language skills. The four-year-old program is especially geared to prepare students academically for kindergarten. My goal for my pre-schoolers is to develop not only the academic and social being of the child, but the spiritual as well. I believe strongly in Catholic/Christian education and in St. Anthony School.
