Shout out to our joyous Student Choir! You guys hit it out of park with those voices during Saturday's Mass. Let's do it again next month; the more the merrier! Also, way to go Volleyball Team Mass greeters! People noticed how friendly and inviting the spirited greeters were this week. The Mass happened to be Father Florian's 50 year jubilee celebration of Priesthood, so his family members from out of town ended up taking up the gifts, but thanks to the kiddos who were originally scheduled to be gift bearers. And finally, thanks to Mason McGuire and Rosie Kempf for proclaiming the word as Lectors.

• In the morning there is only one entrance that may be used by those bringing children to school by car. All drivers must enter at the Marshall Ave./Clyde Ave. entrance. They may use the driveway on either side of the Annex building. • Drivers using the lane on their right of the Annex, should drop their children off at the breezeway door, continue on the driveway to the right, and exit onto Sherwood Ave. • Drivers using the lane on their left of the Annex, should drop their children off at the breezeway doors or sidewalk along the building, make a U-turn, and exit where they entered. • Parents are asked to see that the children they are driving are ready to exit the car as soon as the car stops. Taking a prolonged time to gather belongings and say “good-byes” can cause long waiting lines to form. • Drivers, under no circumstance, may ever pull around the car(s) in front of them and exit • Parents who wish to accompany their children into the building in the morning are encouraged to use the parking lot on the school gym side of the building. Please do not get out of your car while in the drop off line to accompany child into building.

Thanks to everyone who purchased PTO SCRIP certificates last year. The SCRIP program will be continued during the 2018-2019 school year. Projected sales dates are listed below. Scrip is a term that means “substitute money”. When school families and parishioners buy scrip, they are purchasing negotiable gift certificates and prepaid cards that are used just like cash. They can be used to purchase everyday expenditures like food, clothing, gifts, and other essentials. Every scrip purchase earns revenue for the school. The program is very easy to use. I will place an order approximately once a month. Order forms will be in the Bear Facts and on the parish website. You choose the gift certificates you want to buy and then return the form and payment to school by the due date. The following week, scrip certificates will be available for pick-up in the school office. The school earns from two to fifteen percent of the face value of the scrip. The deadline for the first scrip order will be August 17th. Checks need to be made to St. Anthony PTO. Place the order form and payment in an envelope labeled PTO Scrip and turn it in to the office. If you have questions, please contact me. Thank you, Denise Lewis 945-0501 August 17 January 11 September 21 February 8 October 19 March 8 November 9 April 5 December 7 May 10

One of the most valuable life skills a student can learn from his/her parent/guardian is the responsibility of arriving at school every day on time. This skill can easily be accomplished and will transfer as a valuable asset for the future. One of the most important times of the school day is the morning. This is a time for students to prepare for the day. Students can miss valuable instruction time by being late in the morning. The whole tone of a child’s school day is set in the first part of the day. Please help support your children in learning habits that will help them be successful at school and throughout life. Consequences for excessive tardiness per quarter 1st tardy-Warning 2nd tardy-Warning 3rd tardy-Warning letter to parent 4th tardy-Detention to be served After the initial 4 tardies, the student will serve a detention for each additional tardy. If a child serves 4 or more detentions in a quarter, then a meeting will be set up with parents and Principal to discuss further consequences.
