I would like to wish all of you the best of luck in your new adventures.
I would like to thank the faculty and staff, the parents, the students, and the parish community for the love and support they have given to me over the last 47 years. I started working at St. Anthony many years ago teaching Physical Education classes while I took college classes. I then became a Junior High Science teacher for 36 years before becoming the Principal. I have enjoyed my many years, but it is time to take some time for myself. Mrs. Stephany Tucker has been the assistant principal this year and on July 1st she will become the principal for the 2017-2018 school year. I will remain as a Principal Emeritus to continue to support the transition between principals. I hope that you give Mrs. Tucker the love and support that you have given to me. I would also like to wish the best of luck to Mrs. Mary Ann Jones, Mrs. Jessica Blythe, Ms. Candace Offut, and Mrs. Jana Connin as they will not be returning to work at SAS next year. I hope everyone has a great summer. The Back to School Bash is July 25th and the first day of school is Wednesday, July 27. Relax, participate in some fun activities, and enjoy your precious children this summer.
The Clark County and Floyd County Bar Association in conjunction with the Sherman Minton American Inn of Court once again sponsored a Law Day essay contest for fifth graders. The theme was “Proud to Be an American”. Jeremy Lopez (5L) was selected as one of the ten finalists. He received a $100 prize. Congratulations Jeremy on your accomplishment!
The total SCRIP profit for the 2016-2017 school year was $992.49! I would like to thank all the people who supported this program by purchasing gift cards. The next order will be placed in August and information will be on the website and in the Bear Facts when school resumes.
