I would like to give special thanks to Mrs. Doerr and Ms. Futter and the many other teachers, parents and students who put on such a wonderful production of “Shrek Jr.” It was fantastic! I was so very proud of each and every student who performed. I have to admit we have some amazingly, talented students. Thanks to the cast for all your hard work. It was a huge success! Mrs. Doerr and Ms. Futter, yet another spectacular event directed by you two. I would also like to thank Mrs. Jacque Singleton for her choreography; Mr. Tony Singleton for help with the lighting; and Mr. and Mrs. Reyes for their help with the sound system.

The Academic Olympic Competition was held at Providence High School on Wednesday, February 15th. Deanery schools select students from 6th, 7th, and 8th grade for the competition. Academic Olympics is a quick recall competition, where students must answer questions in a certain time. Our teams did a wonderful job at the competition this year. The students truly represented SAS! The eighth grade team came in first place for the third year in a row. This was an exciting, but bittersweet moment for the team members as they have made so many memories as a team over the past three years. The seventh grade team had a great competition, accumulating the most points in the seventh grade division during pool play. In the championship match, they fought hard but unfortunately lost by 1 point. They will be studying long and hard in preparation for next year with their eyes on a first place win. SAS sixth graders came ready for their first year of competition and made it to the championship round. It was a nail biter! The championship went into two tie breaker rounds. In the end, the SAS sixth graders came out on top, bringing back a first place win. Congratulations to all team members and coaches for an excellent year! 8th grade team: Coached by Denise Kempf Marcus Fuson, Abby Hanlon, Miranda Harley, Kieran Kelly, Rosie Kempf, Monica Nokes

St. Anthony School will be hosting its annual Reverse Raffle on Saturday, March 11th. It is an adult fun-filled evening with a Teacher Goody auction, Jewelry Trunk giveaways, 50/50 jackpots, and many more items. We are requesting your help with this event. We are asking that Pre School, Kindergarten, and First grade parents donate one or two 2 liters of Coke or Diet Coke for the dinner. We are asking that grades 2-8 donate gift cards for our silent auction. You can donate money if you like and we can purchase the gift cards or lottery tickets for you. In the past we have made up class baskets, but we are trying something new and thought gift cards or lottery tickets would be a big hit. We would like all donations to be turned into the office by Friday, March 3rd. Please place your gift card, lottery card, or money in an envelope marked “Gift Card” on the envelope. We would appreciate your help.
