Scripp Spelling Bee Champion On Thursday, January 29
th, St. Anthony School held their first Scripp Spelling Bee Competition. What a great way to show school community during Catholic Schools Week! Our first, second, and third grade classrooms had a bee to determine the winners for the competition. Our classroom winners then competed to find the overall school winner.
The entire student body enjoyed a lively spelling bee where for three rounds there were no missed words. Special thanks go to Anne Witten who did a super job as pronouncer and the judges, Sister Dolorita Lutsie, Vanessa Mattingly, and Judge Joe Weber. I would also like to thank Mrs. Marabeth Thomas for being the coordinator of the spelling bee.
Congratulations to our school winner, sixth grader, Monica Nokes. Monica will move on to the regional Scripp Spelling Bee. The runner-up was eighth grader, Ross Reyes. Congratulations to the classroom winners:
