Students are getting ready for Red Ribbon Week® 2018 – this year’s theme is: Life Is Your Journey. Travel Drug Free. At school, students will engage in activities that promote a drug free and healthy lifestyle. Children of parents who talk to their teens regularly about drugs are 42% less likely to use drugs than those who don’t; yet, only a quarter of teens report having these conversations. Red Ribbon Week (October 23rd-31st), the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the nation, is your opportunity to get the ongoing conversation started. Visit www.redribbon.org to learn more about Red Ribbon Week and get tips for talking to your kids about drugs. The life you save may be that of your own child or a dear friend. St. Anthony School will observe Red Ribbon week from Thursday, October 25th through Wednesday, October 31st. In today’s “Bear Facts,” there is a list of the themes for each day of the week and also what the students may wear. As a school, we will focus on the negative influence that drugs, alcohol, and bullying may have on them. We will have a kick off celebration on Wednesday, October 24th. We will have Boomer, the Indiana Pacer’s Mascot, present an Anti-Bullying/Anti-Drug Program.
