Each year, the Clark County Sherriff’s Department hosts a class for fifth graders in which they learn about the dangers of drugs and alcohol. Captain Nick Mobley spent ten weeks with the students during which time the students learned about the harmful effects of illegal drugs, tobacco, and alcohol. They practiced using a decision-making model so they can be prepared to recognize the consequences of their decisions. Finally, they discussed bullying and cyber-bulling. The course ended with a D.A.R.E. graduation and reception at which time the winners of the essay contest were announced. The classroom essay winners were Azul Angeles and Sophie Singleton. Honorable mention essay winners were Lucia Bartley and Ashton McKee. Captain Mobley was joined by Corporal Scottie Maples and Captain Tim Franklin to honor all the St. Anthony D.A.R.E graduates. Congrats to all the essay winners and D.A.R.E. graduates!
