The 7th and 8th grades participated in the annual history essay contest sponsored by our local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The essay this year centered on the importance of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution. Each student researched the history of a woman’s right to vote in our country and wrote an essay on their findings. We are pleased to announce that St. Anthony’s has two first place winners who were honored at a DAR meeting in February. In addition to their awards, the students received a monetary gift of $50.00 each. • The 7th grade first place winner was Mark Sears. • The 8th grade first place winner was Emma Scharre.
