The Academic Olympic Competition was held at Providence High School on Wednesday, February 15th. Deanery schools select students from 6th, 7th, and 8th grade for the competition. Academic Olympics is a quick recall competition, where students must answer questions in a certain time. Our teams did a wonderful job at the competition this year. The students truly represented SAS!
The eighth grade team came in first place for the third year in a row. This was an exciting, but bittersweet moment for the team members as they have made so many memories as a team over the past three years. The seventh grade team had a great competition, accumulating the most points in the seventh grade division during pool play. In the championship match, they fought hard but unfortunately lost by 1 point. They will be studying long and hard in preparation for next year with their eyes on a first place win. SAS sixth graders came ready for their first year of competition and made it to the championship round. It was a nail biter! The championship went into two tie breaker rounds. In the end, the SAS sixth graders came out on top, bringing back a first place win.
Congratulations to all team members and coaches for an excellent year!
